Resilience is a term used to describe behaviors that help people withstand crisis, adapt to, or rebound from adversity. Leaders with resilient capacity have the ability to reframe, adapt, persist and exhibit a sense of well-being in unpredictable work environments.
Findings suggest that when skills focusing on resilience are taught to leaders in high stress environments satisfaction is improved, and turnover is reduced. Leaders with resiliency are able to adapt to the workplace environment, manage change, and promote a sense of optimism.
Resilient leaders demonstrate a sense of well-being in the midst of a sometimes chaotic workplace by having a sense of self awareness and regulation, building relationships and leading with vision. Resilience training can facilitate positive adaption in the often chaotic world of the leader.
